kevinshawKevin Shaw was born and raised in London, ON where he recently completed a PhD. in the Department of English & Writing Studies at the University of Western Ontario. His dissertation, Crossing the Line: Censorship, Borders, and the Queer Poetics of Disclosure in English-Canadian Writing, 1967-2000, explores how law and policy regarding LGBTQ sexual expression in cross-border contexts become embedded in literary forms and genres. Kevin’s creative writing has appeared in periodicals such as The Malahat ReviewThe Gay & Lesbian ReviewPlenitudeArc, Contemporary Verse 2, PRISM international, The Fiddlehead and Grain. His debut collection, Smaller Hours, is forthcoming from icehouse poetry (Goose Lane Editions) this fall.
